Living a Dream in Europe
—Janine M.,
CA
My dream vacation was to go to Europe, and RCI made that dream come true. My middle son had just been accepted at an American school in Switzerland, so when we booked the vacation we made sure we had time to drive there and check out the school. We got to see Rome, Capri, Sienna, Florence, Pompeii and then Switzerland. It was the most fun adventure I have ever taken.*
Our Week of Paella
—Peggy L.,
Ont.
A very informative and helpful guide in New Brunswick booked us into a spacious, comfortable resort on the Costa del Sol in southern Spain. My daughter, Chantel, accompanied us on our very first trip to Europe. We enjoyed touring Granada and the Alhambra, the Jewel of Spain. We visited St. Michael's Cave, in a nature reserve where wild Barbary apes live. We took a funny picture of an inquisitive ape that jumped and landed on Chantel's head. That startled her, but she loved it! Every evening, we had Spain's specialty, paella. Imagine eating paella for seven nights straight! We also watched flamenco dancers. We will try to exchange to the Canary Islands one day.*
A Scottish King's Ancestral Home
—Elizabeth D.,

We loved staying at the historic Kilconquhar Estate & Country Club, once home to the family of Robert the Bruce, one of Scotland's most famous people. You can hear peacocks roaming the beautiful grounds—one visited our window one morning. Kilconquhar is close to St. Andrews, and you can drive from it to Edinburgh. A lovely resort.*
Italy in Depth
—Karen I.,
SC
What better way to celebrate our 45th anniversary than to visit Venice and the Venetian Arc? Thanks to RCI, our home for seven days would be Le Barchesse Di Villa Corner, a 15th-century villa in tiny Cavasagra. One grocer, one restaurant, one bar, a village church and a campanile (bell tower) in the center gave us a real taste of Italy. My husband, of Italian heritage, yearned for Venice, yet we wanted to see more. First we drove north to Treviso, with its murals, porticos and osterias (small bars). We traveled by train to Venice, visiting Piazza San Marco, the Doge's Palace, the Gallerie dell'Accademia, the Peggy Guggenheim Museum and more. On to Bassano del Grappa, known for the scenic Brenta River and the Nardini Grappa Distillery. Daily drives brought surprises: Marostica, with its well-preserved ramparts; Cittadella, built by the Romans and even more resplendent than Marostica. Saving the best for last, we toured Castelfranco, Dick's grandfather's birthplace. Its open-air market gave us a place to reflect on our glorious trip to Italy.*

Some stories mention unusual exceptions made or circumstances that may not be typical for most vacationers. RCI always recommends that you do your own research when making travel plans.
